Plight of Hospitality and Tourism Businesses will not be overshadowed by focus on Scotland’s Route Map out of the Crisis.
Whilst there has been a great deal of talk and focus on the Scottish Government’s Route Map Through and Out of the Crisis, trade bodies will not let this overshadow the need for immediate and ongoing grant support for those abandoned by Government – hospitality and tourism businesses with a RV >£51K.
A joint industry survey has been issued by the Scottish Beer and Pub Association, Scottish Licensed Trade Association, UK Hospitality, Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions and the Scottish Tourism Alliance in its battle to secure financial support for this forgotten sector of the industry.
Despite the introduction of Hardship and Pivotal grants to help this sector, members have reported difficulties in accessing these funds and few have reported successful applications.
To get a more accurate indication on the success & decline rate of applications to these funds by businesses in the >£51K RV category, the industry is collectively issuing a short survey poll, the results of which will be fed back to the Tourism Minister, Fergus Ewing, when the industry meets with him on the 2nd of June.
The survey also asks for an indication of businesses likely to open, or not, in Phase 3 even if they did not apply for the grants and also the likely number of staff they will be having to make redundant.
Please only complete this survey if your premises rateable value is £51k or above
