Tennent’s Gears Up For 2017 Tradeshow

Tennent’s gears up for 2017 Tradeshow

ON-TRADE wholesaler Tennent’s will hold its 2017 tradeshows on Monday, October 30 at Hampden Park in Glasgow and Wednesday, November 1 at the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Both events will see more than 40 leading brand owners showcasing 1,500-plus products with attendees also able to benefit from incremental and exclusive festive period offers only available at the shows.

In addition, operators will have the opportunity to place a single festive period order and spread deliveries over a number of weeks, alleviating any issues with cellar storage in the lead-up to Christmas and New Year.

This year’s tradeshows will feature several brand new elements including an area showcasing new products and insights into the premium category plus a “One Stop” stand to advise customers on the best ways to save money on their orders.

Visitors to the Hampden Park trade show will also have the opportunity to go pitchside and have photographs taken next to the hallowed turf.

Another great addition to this year’s tradeshows will be a stand from Cochrane and Co, the new wine division of Tennent’s formerly known as La Barrique Fine Wines. Cochrane and Co offers a wine selection and service that caters for every type of outlet and consumer.

Customers attending the tradeshows will also have the opportunity to sample the firm’s own range of beers and ciders including Menabrea, Heverlee, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Magners Ice Cold Cider, Magners Dark Fruit, Caledonia Best, Caledonia Premium Ales and Scotland’s top-selling alcohol brand, Tennent’s Lager.

The tradeshows will once again see a range of raffle prizes on offer to those attending including hospitality at football and rugby fixtures, golfing at Gleneagles, Archerfield and Dundonald, and a VIP distillery tour. Headline prizes of a £5,000 refurbishment and £5,000 worth of free stock are also up for grabs.

Roy Henderson, company director of De Beers, Paisley, said: “Over the past few years I have attended a number of tradeshows in Edinburgh and Glasgow in order to gain fresh ideas and innovative brands for my business. I have always enjoyed them and each time the atmosphere has been friendly with many knowledgeable reps.

“Following attendance at the tradeshows my partner and I have introduced new lines to our bar. We always look forward to them.”

Trevor Robertson of the Ellwyn Hotel in Edinburgh added: “I saw and sampled lots of new products, made good supplier contacts and will definitely be returning this year now that I have a better understanding of how to use this event to maximise my buying power.”

In Newmains, Brian McArdle of Robins Bar commented: “As a publican I don’t often get a chance to catch up with friends in the trade. Last year’s tradeshow show gave me an opportunity to meet up and share best practice with fellow publicans – for me this was invaluable and not only gave me the chance to catch up with others but also discover more about Tennent’s and how they can benefit my business.

“It’s a great way to enhance my knowledge and contacts within the trade, and I look forward to this and similar events which I see as an opportunity to support growth for my business and others in Scotland.”

According to Tennent’s sales director Alan Hay, the annual tradeshows are a great way for licensed trade operators to get one step ahead of the crucial festive period.

“With over 40 brand owners in attendance, showcasing over 1,500 brands and with incremental and exclusive offers on the day, we are pleased that they are valued by our customers,” he said.

“We’re committed to providing the best service and deals to our customers so the tradeshows are a great example of the one-stop model, making us perfectly placed to support the on-trade in the lead-up to and throughout December.

“This year will see additional levels of support provided including the option to place one bulk order with staggered deliveries over the festive period – we look forward to welcoming our customers at Hampden and BT Murrayfield.”

Free transport to the shows will be available from various locations across Scotland and those looking for more information should contact their Tennent’s account manager or customer contact representative on 0845 601 5959.
