Its one of Glasgow’s most iconic bars and has played host to many a famous face over years, not least showbiz legends Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire.
Now, the champagne bar at the Grand Central Hotel moves into autumn with a sparking new look and name – Champagne Central – following a lavish refurbishment that harks back to its glory days of opulence and elegance.
Overlooking Central Station, the bar boasts upgraded décor with luxurious new seating areas, exclusive booths, beautiful marble tables and an extended bar to cater for its extensive Champagne and gin offering.
The bar’s original domed ceiling, marble floors and regal pillars have been accentuated by the recent works, enhancing its character and making Champagne Central the perfect blend of a 21st-century hotel bar with a nod to its rich heritage.
There’s a new cocktail list and a bar food menu that includes Champagne afternoon tea as well sharing boards plus perennial favourites.
Graeme Gibson, general manager of Grand Central Hotel, said: “Champagne Central has undergone a remarkable refurbishment and the results will enhance its reputation as one of the city’s most popular meeting places.
“Our guests love the elegance of Champagne Central and the investment will make their experience all the more special.
“Our extended food and drink menus take the venue up a gear and we look forward to welcoming guests in the coming weeks as they experience the luxurious surroundings.”
