With the high-profile rebrand from Maxxium UK to Edrington-Beam Suntory UK in April 2018, followed closely by the opening of a modern, new HQ in the heart of Glasgow in October the same year, it has been an exciting period of change for this dynamic business.
A joint sales, marketing and distribution venture between its two global shareholders – Edrington and Beam Suntory – it is the UK’s number one whisky supplier, working directly with retailers, wholesalers, e-commerce and the on-trade to bring an incredible range of brands to consumers.
Edrington-Beam Suntory is proud to represent a premium spirits portfolio that includes The Macallan, Laphroaig, Highland Park, Maker’s Mark, Bowmore, Brugal and The House of Suntory range of Japanese craft spirits, such as Roku gin, Haku vodka and Toki whisky.
But why the name change? The firm explains: “Our change of name was in recognition of our shareholders, reflecting their strong heritage while building our own presence within the marketplace.
“Moving our HQ from Stirling to Glasgow, one of our key strategic cities, has been hugely successful and just over one year on, we are now fully settled in our new home and committed to attracting and retaining the very best talent.”
This commitment has been cemented by the opening of a new office in London just a few months ago in October, which will act as a “spiritual home for all our brands in the centre of Soho, just a stone’s throw away from many of our key customers and on-trade accounts”.
Edrington-Beam Suntory believes that its people should be proud of where they work, and has strived to increase a positive corporate presence with a brand-new website – launched in May – and engaging social media accounts, ensuring that its core values and vibrant business personality are reflected in all of its communications.
This year, Edrington-Beam Suntory was named Employer Brand of the Year by the Marketing Society Scotland – an award that is testament to its efforts to create a strong culture that embraces change wholeheartedly.
