SLTA joins forces with Plumjobs to tackle staff shortages in licensed trade

The SLTA (Scottish Licensed Trade Association) has formed a partnership with tourism and hospitality recruitment specialist Plumjobs to provide its members with a new service that allows businesses to promote job vacancies free of charge on its website, plumjobs.co.uk.

Colin Wilkinson, SLTA managing director, said that the Scottish licensed trade had been “hit with a chronic shortage of staff” following Brexit and the Covid pandemic. “Recruiting staff is consistently one of the top three challenges highlighted by those operating in the hospitality sector,” he said.

“This partnership with renowned hospitality recruitment specialists Plumjobs will offer our members a package of options giving them that extra support, guidance and professionalism to achieve the best results for their recruitment needs. Being that ‘one step ahead of the rest’ is imperative to attract the right person for staff vacancies.

Plumjobs Director, Ivan Mackenzie, added: “Specialising in the tourism, hospitality, leisure and retail markets, we’re very conscious of the significant staffing challenges that exist within the whole spectrum of the tourism industry just now – particularly with regard to customer-facing roles.

“We’ve invested heavily in ensuring our Plumjobs product provides the very best results in attracting talent in what is a very challenging market place.

“We’ve been particularly aware of the very considerable challenges that SLTA members are experiencing as the result of staff shortages across tourism and hospitality sector. We knew that boosting the exposure of SLTA members’ vacancies via our high-profile recruitment platform would benefit attractions and help them get their posts filled by appropriate candidates as fast as possible.

“We were really pleased to be in a position to offer this help to support an industry which is so vital to Scotland’s economy.”
