Update on decision by Scottish Government Ministers regarding the use of gaming machines.
Following further consideration and health advice the decision has been taken by Ministers that the use of gaming machines within family entertainment centres, adult gaming centres, betting shops, pubs and other premises where they are present will not now be possible from today as initially anticipated and that they must remain switched off.
This has been one of the issues that has created some confusion around the reopening of pubs and bars. This is very disappointing as this represents a continuing restriction, but the need for continued caution around high risk areas is of course paramount. The Government are preparing further information on this and it should be available from the Government web site soon.
It is also likely that ongoing work in relation to premises like snooker halls will have an impact on the use of other facilities like pool tables and we will keep you posted.
