Scottish Government Weekly Roundup

The Scottish Government target to reduce the proportion of children exposed to second-hand smoke to 6% by 2020 has been met five years early according to the Scottish Health Survey, published this week.

Health boards across Scotland will share an additional £9 million this year for emergency departments, hospitals and primary and social care teams to get ready for winter.

More than 10,000 young people will benefit from additional funding for Gaelic music, drama and language teaching.  The Scottish Government will provide £33,000 to support Gaelic learning in 2016-17.
